The proof that the humble tea plant is a superstar ingredient can be seen in its use by bartenders and mixologists around the world. Whilst tea has a long history on the back bar it is experiencing a spectacular rise in no and low ABV (alcohol-by-volume) drink lists.  What is the case for using tea as an ingredient on low and no cocktails?

“What is Nitro?” and “Are Nitrogenated and Carbonated drinks the same?” – are two of the most common questions we get asked about our cold brew iced teas. So we thought it might be helpful to get a bit nerdy and explain what they are and the difference between them…

For anyone that has heard us talk about our White Tea & Calamansi non-alcoholic drink,  you know that this was not the first flavour combination we had in mind.

There’s a common misconception that if you’re not drinking alcohol, you’re not having fun. Whoever thought to spread this rumour did a good job, but it’s definitely not the case and people are beginning to realise that.

There is a not-so-new trend that’s making its way into the mainstream and that is non-alcoholic drinks. What makes this news even better is the significant improvement in the availability, quality and variety of non-alcoholic beverages.

So how do these alcohol-free variations fit into our society?

In building the East Forged brands, we have made many call-outs for volunteers and are so grateful and fortunate to always receive.

Last year,we wanted to create some momentum for the launch of our brand and Kickstarter campaign and in doing so,  participated in the Tea Festivals Australia events in Melbourne and Sydney.

We called for volunteers to support us on the day and the universe introduced us to this all-round incredible human, Amy Masson or @amyli888 on Instagram.

We’ve heard it before; you are what you eat. Everything should be done in moderation - but how often do you check the sugar, calorie or alcohol content of your favourite food and beverages?

Most importantly, do you know how much of these ingredients you should be consuming and the effects they can have on your health if you have too much?

Just because it says sugar-free, low-fat or alcohol-free - doesn’t mean it’s good for you, which is why it’s so important to read the label.
